Flourishing in the exceptionally fertile volcanic loam — a soil type rich in nutrients from ancient volcanic activity, specifically from the slopes of volcanoes like Poás and Barva — our coffee thrives at altitudes ranging from 1300 to 1445 meters. The consistent climate, ample rainfall, and cool mountain air create a unique microclimate that allows our cherished Caturra and Catuai varieties to develop their full, harmonious flavor profile, embodying the very essence of Costa Rican terroir.
Each precious bean undergoes an eco-conscious eco-pulped process, a sustainable method pioneered in Costa Rica that minimizes water usage by removing much of the fruit before washing, thereby preserving the coffee's inherent qualities while protecting the environment. Following this, the beans are lovingly dried in the sun on traditional patios, harnessing the abundant Costa Rican sunshine to gently concentrate their natural sugars and enhance their vibrancy.
